There are many pros to life post-marathon.
But I’d be lying if I didn’t admit I feel a little blah now that the whole New York Marathon experience is over. It could also be the food poisoning I’m currently dealing with. It’s almost 2 and I’m still in bed 😦 Thank goodness this didn’t happen two weeks ago. I know there are more fun races ahead. I’ve loved the Friday happy hours, yogaing, and Rise Nation but I still feel like something is missing. Yesterday during a long walk on the beach I realized what it is miss most about training for a race. I miss all the time I spent outside . I miss planning routes to explore neighborhoods in LA. I miss working towards a goal. I also wonder how much more I could have given on the course. This all probably sounds ridiculous because I’ll be running Boston in April, and I know the best thing I can do to up my chances of a strong race is rest, but it’s how I feel. I guess I should think back to this feeling when I have Yasso 800s lined up on my training plan and I’d rather be sitting on the coach. Wow, this was too touchy feely and emotional for a generally unemotional person. Do other runners experience this?
OK now I need your advice. Has anyone ever purchased a customized training plan? Pros? Cons? Considering it for Boston as something new to try.
